Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Crowder (ranked 7891 p4p, 491 weight class) and Kelvin Pouncey (ranked 4258 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Crowder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 25 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kelvin Pouncey! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pouncey tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Crowder was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pouncey, right into the meat.
Crowder lands a jab to Pouncey's midsection. Pouncey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crowder was well out of range. Poor timing from Pouncey. Pouncey moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Crowder rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pouncey moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pouncey misses with the combination.
Crowder was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pouncey connects with a leg kick. Crowder looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pouncey just misses with a punch to the body.
Good leg kick by Pouncey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pouncey connects with a single shot there. Pouncey lands with a nice body punch. Crowder takes a shot right to the bread basket. Crowder has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 11th Planet Jiu Jitsu in the buildup to the fight. Pouncey throws a body shot but no joy. Crowder slips under a jab from Pouncey. A little feinted left hand from Crowder on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Crowder walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Pouncey throws a series of punches but Crowder moves out of range. Crowder throws a series of punches but Pouncey moves out of range. Pouncey shoots in but no luck this time. Pouncey moves out of range as Crowder strikes. Crowder closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Crowder lands with a straight right. Pouncey didn't see that one coming.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Crowder misses with a looping right. Pouncey looks like he wants to counter punch here. Crowder loads up on a big right hand but Pouncey slips the punch. Pouncey looking to score a takedown here. Crowder is defending well but Pouncey drives through and ends up in Crowder's guard. Pouncey lands a couple of digs. Crowder is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Crowder is really struggling to control Pouncey but he's trying to hold on to the position. Pouncey is in close to Crowder's body, working some short punches and elbows. Crowder looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pouncey puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Crowder on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crowder tries to get out of the position. Crowder is looking for a sweep. Pouncey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Crowder is working hard here to advance position. Pouncey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Crowder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pouncey is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pouncey keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Crowder wants to get back to full guard. Well, if Pouncey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Pouncey seems content to control. Crowder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pouncey on the ground. Pouncey scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pouncey stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Crowder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pouncey is working away from the top position though.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pouncey, as that shot connected.
Kelvin Pouncey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crowder slips under a jab. Pouncey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pouncey lands in his opponent's guard. Crowder wants to sweep here but Pouncey controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kelvin Pouncey dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Pouncey tries to bum rush Crowder with a series of wild strikes but Crowder uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pouncey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

enabling Crowder to counter with a crisp jab. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Crowder works over Pouncey's head and body with a nice combination. Pouncey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pouncey lands in his opponent's guard. Crowder wants to get back to his feet but Pouncey passes into half guard.

Pouncey is nestled in close to Crowder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Crowder is trying to stand up here but Pouncey is controlling him well. Still in half guard, Pouncey seems content to control. Pouncey working the head and body with strikes. Pouncey stops Crowder from getting back to his feet.

He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Crowder tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Pouncey!
