Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lars Romanow (ranked 1026 p4p, 133 weight class) and Chris Karter (ranked 1058 p4p, 137 weight class). Chris Karter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lars Romanow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Chris Karter!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karter shoots in but Romanow avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Karter avoids the body shot from Romanow.
Romanow lands a nice looking kick to the body. Karter takes a step back to recover.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Karter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Karter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Karter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Karter is looking to land body kicks.
Romanow looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Karter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Romanow.

Romanow is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Karter.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Karter has Romanow pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Romanow manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Karter has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Romanow regains guard immediately.
