Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Jacks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dylan Peterson! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacks gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Peterson scores with the left hand. Jacks knows he should have avoided that one. Peterson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jacks backs up against the cage.
Peterson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jacks. A big right from Jacks misses. And Peterson tries to counter it with a takedown but Jacks pushes his down on his head and steps out. Peterson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jacks looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Jacks shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jacks fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Peterson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Peterson misses with a looping right. Jacks moves out of range of the leg kick from Peterson. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jacks misses with a hook. Jacks lands with a nice body punch. Jacks lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jacks. Jacks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jacks lands with an overhand left. Peterson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Peterson looks to land a combination but Jacks avoids it well. Peterson throws a head kick but Jacks moves out of range.
Peterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacks is looking to improve his position.
Peterson lands strikes from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterson connects with a nice short shot to Jacks's temple. Peterson working the head and body with strikes. Jacks on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jacks is rocked! Peterson working the head and body with strikes. Oh Jacks is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Peterson scores with a big shot! Jacks's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Jacks! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
