Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrei Sakovich! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davis avoids the head kick by Sakovich.
Davis connects with a single shot there. Davis lands with a shot to the body. Davis cracks a nice hook into Sakovich's ribs. A lazy left from Davis finds it's target. Sakovich fails in his attempt to clinch. Davis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sakovich has time to react. Good exchange - Davis coming out on top. Sakovich takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Davis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sakovich.
Despite the aggression on Sakovich's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Davis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Davis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Sakovich moves forwards but Davis connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Andrei Sakovich has been cut. Davis swings for the body but Sakovich moves out of range.
Sakovich's coach down at Rabid Reindeer Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sakovich's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sakovich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A counter left hand to the body from Davis misses its target. Sakovich on the wrong end of a nice hook. Davis darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Sakovich takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Davis lands a lovely overhand right. Sakovich drives through and clinches with Davis against the cage.
Davis lands an uppercut. Sakovich tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sakovich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sakovich is rocked! Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Sakovich is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him? Davis steps in with a hook that catches Sakovich right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Davis follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Sakovich looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian Davis! Andrei Sakovich spoke after the fight, saying 'Well that's life folks. Gonna be better next time and win!! So better watch out Bay Bay!!'.
