PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marlo Stanfield (ranked 3792 p4p, 378 weight class) and Tony Duff (ranked 3758 p4p, 377 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stanfield might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Legendary. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duff was well out of range. Poor timing from Stanfield.
Stanfield fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duff manages to avoid it.
Stanfield misses with a wild combination.
Duff tries to clinch there but Stanfield circles away.
Stanfield connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Duff's hands.
Stanfield uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Duff has time to react.
Stanfield takes a swing at Duff's ribcage but misses.

Stanfield gets caught napping as Duff dives in and scores a takedown. Stanfield manages to retain guard.
Stanfield wants to stand and escape but Duff is having none of it.

Duff drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stanfield looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stanfield looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stanfield!

Duff tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Stanfield decides to stand up, so the ref orders Duff to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duff walks into a left hand.

Duff is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stanfield.
Stanfield sizes up Duff with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Duff gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Duff tries a knee to the head but Stanfield blocks it.

Stanfield's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Stanfield throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Duff.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stanfield throws a hook to the side of Duff's head but Duff sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Stanfield fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Duff looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Duff.

Duff darts in and clinches Stanfield up against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Duff throws an elbow but misses.

Stanfield cracks Duff with a left hook right on the temple and Duff goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Stanfield lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Duff is OK!
