Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim St John (ranked 2764 p4p, 327 weight class) and Lane Craig (ranked 3644 p4p, 386 weight class). St John comes to the cage accompanied by Machine gun Kelly - Till I Die. Tim St John had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim St John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lane Craig! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St John lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. St John feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Craig's calf. Craig connects with a good right hand that stumbles St John. St John circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Craig uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by St John.
Craig throws out a counter right but St John avoids it with no problem. Craig shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Craig fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt St John. St John scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. St John fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Craig checks it well. Craig works St John's body with a nice hook. St John keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
St John appears to be looking for a big counter. St John throws a leg kick that is checked and Craig counters with a good low kick that St John was not able to check. Craig uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by St John.

Craig thuds a left hand into St John's body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! St John throws a leg kick that is checked and St John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. St John takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

We've been hearing reports that St John has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. St John will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Craig flicks out a counter leg kick but St John steps away. St John wants to clinch and Craig counters with a lovely straight right hand! Craig with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Craig lands a right hand that snaps the head of St John backwards. St John's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Craig lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. This has been an exciting period of action! Craig throws an uppercut from half a mile away. St John sees it coming and avoids it easily. St John misses with a body shot

Craig scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. St John doesn't seem bothered though. St John scores with a kick to the midsection. Craig throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Craig lands a nice looking body shot.
St John ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Craig moves away. Craig doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A punch lands to the side of St John 's head but he takes it in his stride. Craig throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Lane Craig dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
St John shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. St John looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Craig with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. St John keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from St John. St John slips a nice elbow through Craig's hands, connecting with Craig's forehead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Craig avoiding damage under a succession of punches from St John. St John throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. St John is thwarting Craig's attempts to control the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. St John connects with a nice short shot to Craig's temple.

Craig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with St John. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. St John thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. St John missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. St John slips a nice elbow through Craig's hands, connecting with Craig's forehead. St John is nestled in close to Craig, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. St John has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Craig trying to hold on to St John's head to control him but St John postures up.
St John decides to return to a standing position. St John takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. St John scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Craig ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Some wild striking there from St John.
Craig throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Craig pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. St John shoots in and gets a takedown into Craig's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. St John decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Craig, up you get! Lane Craig is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good standup being displayed there by St John as he connects with a hook. Craig takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. St John bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Craig's head backwards. St John misses with a hook. Craig ducked under it nicely. Craig avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice shot lands for Craig. Craig has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Some wild striking there from St John.

and St John counters with a left and a right that stings Craig. Tim St John is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. St John misses with a wild body shot. Craig lands with a good body shot. Craig tests St John's chin there with a solid looking shot. Craig keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Craig takes a swing at St John's ribcage but misses. St John appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. St John checks a low kick from Craig. St John seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Donk. St John catches Craig right on the button with a cross. A chopping leg kick lands by Craig. A telegraphed right hand from Craig misses the target. St John lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. St John rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Craig moves out of range and avoids them all easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! St John misses with a body shot.

As Craig looks to move away, St John throws a big counter combo but Craig just gets out of the way. St John throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Craig's waist but Craig gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing St John off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. St John throws a nice looking combination but Craig bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lane Craig seems to be getting the better of the standup. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! St John crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Craig - the referee stops the clock and St John gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Craig. St John manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Good exchange - St John coming out on top. St John swings for the body but Craig moves out of range.

Craig looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Craig connects with a solid leg kick. Craig scores with a hook to the body. St John takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Craig buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Craig, as that shot connected.

St John ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Craig moves away. Craig is looking to chop away at St John's legs. It looked like St John wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. St John misses with a straight right. St John is looking to wear down Craig with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Craig lands a nice shot to the body.

Craig swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Craig ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Craig shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. St John eats them both and turns towards Craig to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Craig ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. St John will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Craig looks to land a right hand but St John moved out of range. St John seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Nice uppercut lands for Craig. That snapped St John's head back.
St John shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Craig manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Craig is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? St John content to stall in guard here. St John scoring with punches to the head and body.
