PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Izack Tukill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carey Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams has chosen Supermassive Black Hole by Muse as his entrance music. Carey Williams is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Carey Williams!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tukill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Williams wants to work for an arm triangle but Tukill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tukill is trying to stand back up but Williams is controlling him

Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Izack Tukill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carey Williams.

Tukill has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Williams clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams turns into Tukill and is now in his guard.

Tukill is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him.
Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Tukill is retaining full guard.
Williams won't allow Tukill to sweep him here.
Williams stops Tukill from standing up.

Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Williams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tukill tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tukill to the ground. Tukill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tukill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Williams fails with the takedown
and Tukill counters with a series of strikes. Williams will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tukill stuffs the takedown.
Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tukill pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tukill swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Tukill throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A right-left combo lands from Tukill.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tukill swivels and escapes.
Tukill throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tukill misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Tukill moves into the clinch.
Williams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tukill prevents it.

Tukill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tukill misses with a double jab.
Williams doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tukill counters with a single leg into guard. Williams didn't expect that.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tukill's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Williams has his foot on Tukill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tukill works his way back into a safe position though.

Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tukill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tukill lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Williams kicks Tukill off and gets to his feet.
Williams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tukill.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Tukill, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Tukill against the cage but Tukill circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Williams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tukill doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams.

Williams is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tukill has managed to free his arm - good work.

Williams is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tukill defends it well.

Tukill wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Williams seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

A close round but Carey Williams will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Williams moves into range and clinches up with Tukill.

Tukill wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Tukill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Tukill counters with a big head kick but Williams shrugs it off.
Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tukill's waist but Tukill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side.
Tukill lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Tukill shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Williams shoots in but no luck this time.

Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tukill avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Williams gets underhooks to prevent Tukill's takedown attempt.
Tukill wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Williams jumps guard and drags Tukill to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Williams is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tukill throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Williams's body to avoid the submission. Williams has instead reached around Tukill's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Williams arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Carey Williams!
