Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Morales (ranked 5506 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Angle (ranked 3506 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lorenzo Morales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Angle!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Angle can pounce on him.
Angle drops his hands momentarily and Morales takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Good exchange - Morales coming out on top.
Angle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Morales.

Angle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Morales could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Angle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Angle prevents Morales from improving his position.

Angle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Morales is just riding it out for now. Angle eventually gives up the hold.

Angle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Morales doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Angle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Angle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Morales sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Morales trying to hold on to Angle's head to control him but Angle postures up.

Angle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Angle is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Morales is trying to maintain the position but Angle is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Morales throws a combination. Angle tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Morales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Angle defends it easily.

Angle pushes down on Morales's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Morales connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Angle's hands.
A left and a right from Morales both land. Nice combination.
Morales tests Angle's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Angle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Morales to the mat! Morales manages to get full guard.

Angle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Morales has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Angle has managed to get both his arms back between Morales's legs - danger averted.
Angle slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Angle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Angle drops back looking for a leg! Morales is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Morales manages to kick Angle off! Angle jumps back into Morales's guard.
Angle's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Morales has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Angle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Angle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Angle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Morales is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Morales is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Angle is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Angle has escaped and now he's on top!

The referee asks Angle politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Angle prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Angle tries to free his leg and advance position but Morales is retaining full guard.

Angle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Morales has his foot on Angle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Angle works his way back into a safe position though.

Morales escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Angle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A close second round but Kurt Angle will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Morales stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Angle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Morales's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Angle is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Angle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Morales connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Angle momentarily.

Angle shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Angle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angle wants to pass the guard but Morales is keeping the position.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Angle. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Morales working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Angle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Angle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I would just about give that final round to Kurt Angle.
I've got Angle winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
