The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boucher keeps Witt at a distance using the push kick.
Witt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boucher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Witt somewhat.

Boucher forces Witt back against the cage and clinches.

Boucher manages to pull guard.
Boucher pulls Witt in to control the position.
Boucher wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boucher pulls Witt in close to his closed guard and prevents Witt from doing any damage or advancing position.
Witt has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boucher is proving hard to escape from.
Boucher looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boucher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Witt's guard.

Boucher slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boucher stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Witt darts in and clinches Boucher up against the cage.
Witt wants to break free but Boucher has control.
A right handed body shot lands from Boucher.
Boucher lands a shoulder strike.
Boucher lands a knee to the body.
Witt is breathing heavily.

Witt is fighting off a takedown attempt but Boucher is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Witt to the mat. Witt regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Witt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shahid Boucher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boucher changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Witt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
