The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamkhalaev ducks under a wild hook from Golovkin.
Golovkin cracks Shamkhalaev with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

We've been told by Golovkin's head coaches at Blake Phoenix's Champion Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Golovkin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
