Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bradford Andrews! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikolay Egorovich! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Egorovich clinches up against the cage. Andrews tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Egorovich smiles and moves away.
Andrews misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Andrews as Egorovich shoots in. Andrews throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Despite the aggression on Egorovich's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Egorovich shoots in for a takedown but Andrews shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Egorovich blocks a head kick by Andrews.
Andrews defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Egorovich. Bradford Andrews has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikolay Egorovich. Egorovich throws a head kick that misses. Egorovich looks for a takedown but Andrews sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Egorovich shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Egorovich was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Andrews bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Nikolay Egorovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Egorovich fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Andrews, pushing him back against the cage. Egorovich working Andrews over with knees to the body. Andrews is fighting off a takedown attempt but Egorovich is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Andrews to the mat. Andrews regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Andrews is looking to stand up but Egorovich isn't so interested in that idea. Andrews wants to improve his position but instead Egorovich has moved into half guard.
Egorovich is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Andrews reverses the position - he's now on top in Egorovich's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Andrews with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Egorovich wants to get back to his feet but Andrews is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Andrews throwing strikes but missing. Andrews is looking to work some ground and pound but Egorovich has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Andrews in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Egorovich avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Andrews's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Egorovich working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Andrews. Egorovich trying to control the position here. Egorovich wants to stand and escape but Andrews is having none of it. Egorovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Andrews. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Egorovich has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Andrews can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Andrews throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Egorovich is trying to keep Andrews in close.
Andrews gets to his feet - Egorovich follows without any prompting. Egorovich tries for a takedown but Andrews circles away easily enabling Andrews to counter with a crisp jab. Egorovich has closed the distance and engaged Andrews in a clinch.
Andrews managing to block the knees to the body from Egorovich.
Andrews tries to pull guard but Egorovich forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Andrews jumps into guard, dragging Egorovich to the mat.
Andrews has momentary wrist control but Egorovich slips an elbow through the middle.
It looks like Bradford Andrews has been cut. Andrews has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Andrews is breathing heavily. Andrews is working an open guard so Egorovich takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Egorovich pushes Andrews up against the cage in a clinch. Andrews avoiding damage as Egorovich throws knees to the body.
Egorovich pulls guard successfully.
Andrews trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Andrews working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Andrews preventing the sweep. Andrews postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Egorovich thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Egorovich holds on and takes a little breather. Egorovich looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Andrews throws a big elbow that misses. Egorovich is looking to stand up but Andrews isn't so interested in that idea. Egorovich working for a triangle but Andrews defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bradford Andrews will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bradford Andrews's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Egorovich misses with a kick to the body.
Andrews swats away the attempt to clinch by Egorovich. Nice sprawl there from Andrews as Egorovich shoots in. Egorovich lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Andrews goes down and covers up as Egorovich starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikolay Egorovich!
