Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hamish McTavish (ranked 741 p4p, 90 weight class) and Cesar Colnago (ranked 1118 p4p, 130 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cesar Colnago! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McTavish tries to score a power double leg takedown but Colnago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McTavish somewhat. McTavish staying out of range there. McTavish attempts a counter takedown but Colnago avoids it well and moves away. McTavish tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. McTavish closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Colnago quickly recovers to half guard. Colnago blocking the ground and pound attempt from McTavish. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Colnago blocking the ground and pound attempt from McTavish. Colnago has hold of McTavish's hands but McTavish slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. McTavish is taking a breather. Colnago says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Nice strikes from McTavish there.
That's one minute gone in the round. McTavish not landing any meaningful shots this time. McTavish is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. McTavish thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Colnago's head. McTavish has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McTavish throwing shots but Colnago is blocking nicely. McTavish works his way into full mount! A nice elbow there by McTavish. Colnago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McTavish. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poor strikes thrown by McTavish there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Colnago blocking the ground and pound. Colnago is trying desperately to improve position. McTavish throwing strikes here but Colnago is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
McTavish sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! McTavish fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
McTavish lands a couple of good shots and Colnago has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Even with his hooks in, McTavish manages to miss with strikes from the back. McTavish not allowing Colnago to control his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colnago is trying to defend against the choke here but McTavish has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. McTavish Tightens the hold and Colnago taps out furiously! McTavish displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hamish McTavish! Hamish McTavish decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
