Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junkyard Dog (ranked 164 p4p, 19 weight class) and Angelo Mendez (ranked 392 p4p, 43 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mendez's choice of entrance music: Angelito. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angelo Mendez! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dog lands a leg kick that knocks Mendez off balance momentarily. Angelo Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendez takes one to the chin there. Mendez misses the jab. Mendez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Mendez scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Junkyard Dog has been cut. Mendez throws a right hand that misses
and Dog counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mendez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dog lands a really nice looking cross but Mendez seems unphased.
Mendez misses with an uppercut. A quick step to the side and Dog tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. A chopping leg kick lands by Dog. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dog keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mendez. Dog lands with an uppercut that bounces Mendez off the cage and back into range. Mendez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dog. Dog fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mendez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As Mendez backs away, Dog returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Mendez throws a good cross that connects.
Dog keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mendez. Mendez looks to land a right hand but Dog moved out of range. Dog feinted there with a counter leg kick. Dog rushes Mendez and presses him up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog lands an uppercut. Mendez wants to get back to striking at distance but Dog won't allow it.
Mendez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Good work by Mendez as he checks the leg kick. Dog lands a nice hook to Mendez's body. Mendez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mendez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Mendez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dog. Mendez throws a predictable looking body shot
and Dog counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mendez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dog, right into the meat.
An inside leg kick lands from Dog. Dog looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Mendez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dog closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mendez circles away. Mendez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A telegraphed right hand from Dog misses the target. Dog tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez misses with a two punch combination.
Mendez missing with a left hand there. Dog was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dog slips under a jab. Dog throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dog throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mendez on the side of the head. Dog slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Mendez misses with an uppercut. Dog saw that one coming. Mendez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dog takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Mendez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Dog lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Dog dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dog has closed the distance and engaged Mendez in a clinch.

Mendez lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Mendez tries to circle away but Dog has him pinned against the cage. Dog throws a head punch that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Mendez blocking some punches.
Mendez manages to break the clinch.
A big left from Mendez misses. Dog with a hook. A big right from Mendez misses. A little feinted left hand from Dog on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Mendez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dog. Mendez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dog counters with a straight right hand. Dog tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mendez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dog slips under a jab from Mendez. Dog drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Dog blocks a jab. Mendez throws a right hand that Dog ducks under and follows up with a left that Dog also avoids with ease. Dog scores with a jab. Mendez acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Mendez throws a hook but Dog blocks it. Dog scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Dog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mendez throws out the jab. Mendez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dog's head. Nice shot by Dog. Dog closes the distance and clinches. A hook to the body from Dog.

Dog lands on the inside with an uppercut. A frustrated look appears on Mendez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mendez is looking to break free of the clinch but Dog has double underhooks. Dog tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mendez's elbow. Dog scores with a nice hook to the head. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dog swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mendez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mendez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Dog looks to throw the jab but Mendez is out of range. Mendez throws a counter combo. Mendez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junkyard Dog dominated that round. The cut man is working on Junkyard Dog's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dog moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Dog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dog working the ground and pound. Mendez gets back to half guard. Mendez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dog not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez controlling the position for now. Mendez wants to stand back up but Dog manages to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog lands a nice forearm strike. Mendez tries to buck Dog off but Dog is having none of it. Mendez wants to control but Dog postures up. Mendez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dog haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Dog tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dog has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mendez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dog working the ground and pound. Mendez wants to control but Dog postures up. Dog grinds an elbow into Mendez's temple.
Mendez is rocked! Dog is putting a hurting on Mendez here, landing some big shots from side control. Mendez is still in real trouble! Can Dog finish him? Dog lands a strong strike to the head of Mendez. That's dazed him! Dog looking to finish here. Mendez is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Dog lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Junkyard Dog! During a confident post fight interview, Junkyard Dog thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
