Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tarudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre has chosen Indestructable by Disturbed as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matt Pierre was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Tarudo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Pierre! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Pierre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tarudo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pierre prevents Tarudo from getting back to his feet. Tarudo trying to strike off his back.
Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tarudo throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Tarudo pulls Pierre in close to his closed guard and prevents Pierre from doing any damage or advancing position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tarudo is looking for a triangle but Pierre pushes his legs off easily.
Pierre controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Pierre won't allow Tarudo to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Tarudo looking to control.
Tarudo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pierre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pierre has gone for a leg lock! Tarudo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pierre's guard. Tarudo being controlled here momentarily. Tarudo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tarudo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pierre is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tarudo has picked Pierre up and slammed him! Pierre can't keep hold of the triangle and Tarudo manages to pass to side control! Tarudo trying to control the position but Pierre is working away. Tarudo moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Pierre keeps Tarudo under control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tarudo throws an elbow but Pierre slips to the side and avoids it well. You can see the frustration on Pierre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pierre tries to improve position but can't. Tarudo is breathing heavily. Pierre wants to control but Tarudo postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pierre is looking to regain half guard here but Tarudo keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tarudo with a lazy takedown attempt so Pierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pierre being controlled here momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Tarudo tries for a takedown but Pierre circles away easily and Pierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tarudo's guard. Pierre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tarudo's guard. Pierre is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Tarudo is retaining full guard. Tarudo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tarudo keeping moving, preventing Pierre from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre tries to stand but Tarudo is controlling from the bottom. Pierre trying to control but Tarudo is working from the bottom. Tarudo looking to control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pierre clinches up with Tarudo and pushes him back against the cage. Tarudo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pierre walks away with a smile on his face. Tarudo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tarudo prevents Pierre from moving into mount. Tarudo trying to remain calm as Pierre controls from the top position. Pierre trying to control the action but Tarudo is working from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Pierre stalls from top position. You can see the frustration on Tarudo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre controlling the position from side mount. Pierre tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tarudo's legs. Pierre controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pierre's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tarudo keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Despite being in the dominant position, Matt Pierre just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pierre closes the distance and pushes Tarudo back into the cage. Pierre decides to pull guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pierre holds on and takes a little breather. Tarudo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Pierre closes the distance and clinches. Pierre gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pierre controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre is pushing down on Tarudo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tarudo is fighting to maintain full guard but Pierre has managed to sneak the leg through. Pierre perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Tarudo is trying to get back to full guard. Pierre is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tarudo misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre wants to pass the guard but Tarudo is defending well. Pierre trying to control the pace. Pierre should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Pierre shoots in and bounces Tarudo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pierre trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarudo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
