Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elmore James (ranked 766 p4p, 94 weight class) and Derui Pake (ranked 1148 p4p, 136 weight class). James comes into the arena with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMfD2O9Gds blaring out of the sound system. Pake has chosen Pegasus Fantasy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Derui Pake has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Elmore James's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elmore James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Derui Pake! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from James misses. Pake checks a low kick from James. Pake thinks about the counter body kick. Pake scores with a jab to the head.
Pake gets caught flat footed, as James shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. James looking to sit in guard and control but Pake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. James controls Pake momentarily but Pake frees himself. James throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pake uses it to pass to side control.
Pake stands up. Elmore James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James misses with a left hand and Pake counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
James shoots in for a takedown but Pake shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pake ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pake throws an off balance right hand
and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. James looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. James ducks under a wild hook from Pake. Pake throws a jab when James was well out of range. Pake misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from James.
James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A looping hook to the body misses from Pake. James does a little dance to reset his feet. Pake just misses with a punch to the body.
James is looking to counter punch. James has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Elmore James has been cut. James scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Pake avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nice uppercut lands for Pake. That snapped James's head back.
Nice cross by James. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elmore James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James looks to land a left hand but Pake moved out of range nicely. James drops his hands momentarily and Pake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The crowd cheers as Pake lands an impressive looking overhand right. James doesn't seem phased though. Pake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Derui Pake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pake stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pake wants it to stay on the feet. Pake throws a hook but James blocks it. Pake checks the leg kick. A jab from James misses. Pake takes one on the button. A jab lands there for James. A swing and a miss from Pake. James fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pake has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. James cracks Pake with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pake.
An attempted straight right counter from James misses the target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James misses with a hook. Pake ducked under it nicely. It seemed like Pake was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Pake thumps James with a low kick. Pake scores with a decent looking hook. James swings widly with a right hand
and Pake counters with a left to the body. Pake moves out of range as James strikes. James lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
James walks into a left hand. Pake bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps James's head backwards. Pake looks to throw the jab but James is out of range. James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pake's waist but Pake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side. Pake tries a quick counter leg kick but James is wise to it. Pake throws a series of punches but James moves out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pake rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and James counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pake is rocked! James circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Pake tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! James wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Elmore James! Elmore James decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
