Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaz McStafferson (ranked 795 p4p, 104 weight class) and Wayne Benning (ranked 740 p4p, 97 weight class). Kaz McStafferson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kaz McStafferson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayne Benning! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benning throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A looping hook to the body misses from McStafferson. Benning does a little dance to reset his feet. McStafferson tries for a takedown but Benning circles away easily enabling Benning to counter with a crisp jab. McStafferson with a poor takedown and Benning connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A head kick by McStafferson misses and Benning counters with a stiff right hand. McStafferson misses with a takedown and Benning counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaz McStafferson. That's going to take a lot out of him. McStafferson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McStafferson is trying to work for a kimura but Benning is defending well.
Benning wants to get back to his feet. Benning is trying to get back to full guard. Benning is defending against the submission attempts here by McStafferson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benning looks like he's trying to stand up.
McStafferson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Benning is not content to let McStafferson control the position. McStafferson is working for a submission of some sort.

Benning moves into full guard.
Benning wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McStafferson trying to control but Benning is working from the bottom. McStafferson tries to free his leg and advance position but Benning is retaining full guard. McStafferson wants to control from the top but Benning keeps moving. McStafferson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Benning is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Benning has escaped and now he's on top! Benning not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. McStafferson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

McStafferson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Benning manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McStafferson has Benning in his guard. Benning wants to control from the top but McStafferson keeps moving. McStafferson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. McStafferson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Benning controls McStafferson momentarily but McStafferson frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McStafferson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benning swivels though and keeps the full guard. Benning trying to control the position here. Benning wants to stand and escape but McStafferson is having none of it. McStafferson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McStafferson is working hard here to advance position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Benning wants to stand but McStafferson is controlling the position. Benning utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wayne Benning will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
McStafferson misses with a head kick.
Benning is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McStafferson with a body shot. McStafferson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. McStafferson with a lazy takedown attempt and Benning counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Benning connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. McStafferson tries for a takedown but Benning circles away easily and Benning counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaz McStafferson. That's going to take a lot out of him. McStafferson with a lazy takedown attempt and Benning counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McStafferson shoots and misses enabling Benning to counter with a crisp jab. McStafferson shoots and misses and Benning counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Benning cracks McStafferson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
McStafferson is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Benning engages and cracks McStafferson with a massive lead left hook - McStafferson tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Benning is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
