Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tori Kankunnen!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Etchecopar forces Kankunnen back against the cage and clinches.
Etchecopar with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Etchecopar stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Etchecopar controlling the action here for a moment.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Etchecopar for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Etchecopar tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kankunnen working hard to break the clinch.
Kankunnen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Etchecopar tries to throw a body punch but Kankunnen avoids it by throwing Etchecopar back against the cage.
Kankunnen's coach down at Cozad MMA Helsinki was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kankunnen's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kankunnen tries for a takedown but Etchecopar manages to get underhooks.
Etchecopar scores a nice knee to the body.

I was talking to Etchecopar's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kankunnen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kankunnen is trying to maintain a safe position but Etchecopar gets an underhook and turns Kankunnen into the cage.
Etchecopar lands with a short shot to the head.
The referee is keeping an eye on Etchecopar - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Etchecopar putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Kankunnen in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Kankunnen looks winded!

The two fighters are battling for control here. Kankunnen trying to break out of Etchecopar's Thai clinch. Etchecopar unloads with a massive knee right up the middle that drops Kankunnen to the canvas! He's out cold! Wow, what a knee by Etchecopar!
