Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Baker (ranked 5580 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Verhoeven (ranked 6693 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alistair Verhoeven! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verhoeven tries to land a front kick but Baker steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nice body punch from Verhoeven. Verhoeven should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Verhoeven lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Verhoeven throws a head kick that misses. Baker tries to counter by clinching up but Verhoeven breaks away and moves out of range. Verhoeven clinches with his opponent.
Baker wants to take the fight to the mat but Verhoeven manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Baker tries to score a body lock takedown but Verhoeven shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Baker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Verhoeven is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Baker. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Baker manages to end up in side control. Baker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Baker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Verhoeven some visible discomfort.
Verhoeven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Baker cracks Verhoeven with a big elbow. Verhoeven takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Verhoeven is working to avoid the ground and pound but Baker connects with a decent elbow. Baker working the head with strikes. Baker throwing shots but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Verhoeven is looking for a sweep. Verhoeven takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Verhoeven is rocked! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Verhoeven is still in real trouble! Can Baker finish him? Check out the look on Baker's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Baker in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Verhoeven looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Baker turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonny Baker! In his post fight interview, Jonny Baker started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
