Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lon Jackson (ranked 25111 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alessio Ferrari (ranked 5474 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alessio Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrari closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jackson's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferrari must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jackson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ferrari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ferrari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ferrari shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

Jackson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ferrari up against the cage.

Ferrari fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jackson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ferrari is working an open guard so Jackson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jackson slips a nice elbow through Ferrari's hands, connecting with Ferrari's forehead.
Ferrari is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Ferrari is defending well.
Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ferrari with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but Ferrari is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ferrari doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.
