Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Blackburn (ranked 7027 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asmodius Crowley (ranked 5140 p4p, 0 weight class). Asmodius Crowley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brad Blackburn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Asmodius Crowley! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crowley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blackburn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Crowley tries to stand but Blackburn is controlling his head. Blackburn manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Crowley is trying is best to control the position here. Crowley regains full guard. Nicely done. Crowley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crowley is on top in guard.
Crowley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crowley is looking to stand up but Blackburn won't let him. Crowley working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Blackburn really is a fat lump. Blackburn looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Crowley puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Blackburn is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Crowley scores with a couple of nice shots. Crowley looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Blackburn is looking to improve his position.
Crowley works his way into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crowley controlling from mount. It looks like Crowley might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Crowley landing strikes from the mount and Blackburn is in trouble! Crowley has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Crowley sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Blackburn bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crowley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blackburn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Crowley trying to strike off his back.
Crowley controlling the position. Blackburn preventing the sweep. Crowley is still trying to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Crowley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blackburn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Blackburn wants to pass the guard but Crowley is keeping the position. Crowley is pulling down on Blackburn's head. It's preventing any offense from Blackburn, at least for the moment. Crowley has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blackburn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Crowley. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asmodius Crowley dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Crowley feints and as Blackburn raises his hands in defense, Crowley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Crowley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Blackburn being controlled here, momentarily. Blackburn wants to sweep here but Crowley controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crowley pushes down on Blackburn's leg and manages to get into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Well, if Crowley is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Blackburn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crowley prevents Blackburn from improving his position. Crowley is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Blackburn! Crowley sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Crowley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crowley prevents Blackburn from getting the reversal. Asmodius Crowley has got the better of the ground game so far. Crowley wants to finish this one by submission but Blackburn is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Crowley. Crowley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Crowley content just to control the position here. Crowley landing punches. Crowley looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crowley controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crowley gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Crowley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Crowley advances to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crowley raining down hammerfists from mount. Crowley scoring with strikes but Blackburn is staying in there. Crowley avoids the attempt from Blackburn to control. Crowley lands a nice shot to the head. Blackburn in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Crowley putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Blackburn is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blackburn has left one of his arms exposed and Crowley doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Blackburn screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
