Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Nicolas Blankenship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohammed Sleiman! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blankenship throws a big shot that misses. Blankenship gets tackled into the cage by Sleiman. Sleiman maintains the clinch. Sleiman pulls guard. Sleiman working for a triangle but Blankenship defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blankenship wants to control from the top but Sleiman keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sleiman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sleiman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sleiman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Blankenship postures up in Sleiman's guard and throws a big left but Sleiman blocks it. Blankenship showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Sleiman wants to sweep here but Blankenship controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Blankenship really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nice straight punches there by Blankenship. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Blankenship.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sleiman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Blankenship manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Sleiman keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Sleiman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sleiman digs a good body shot into Blankenship's ribs. Sleiman drives through and clinches with Blankenship against the cage.

Blankenship trying to control the position but instead, Sleiman has worked for underhooks and has pushed Blankenship into the cage. Sleiman has had enough of the clinch but Blankenship keeps him there for the moment. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Blankenship throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Blankenship is looking to control Sleiman's arms but Sleiman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Blankenship has his back to the cage. Blankenship slows down the pace here.
Sleiman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sleiman clinches up with Blankenship and pushes him back against the cage. Blankenship looking to stall.
A battle for position here, against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Nicolas Blankenship. Sleiman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Blankenship is trying to maintain a safe position but Sleiman gets an underhook and turns Blankenship into the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blankenship stalling in the clinch but Sleiman improves position. The referee is keeping an eye on Blankenship - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

A close round but Mohammed Sleiman will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Blankenship shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sleiman eats them both and turns towards Blankenship to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Jab from Blankenship. Sleiman slips a jab and a cross from Blankenship.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Sleiman pushes Blankenship up against the cage in a clinch. Sleiman tries to break free but Blankenship pushes him back against the cage. Sleiman lands a takedown into guard.

Sleiman is in close to Blankenship's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sleiman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sleiman landing with the ground and pound. Blankenship can't keep his opponent in guard - Sleiman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Blankenship wants to improve his position but Sleiman is controlling well.
Sleiman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blankenship defends it well. Sleiman is figuring out what he wants to do next. Blankenship misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Blankenship is trying to stand.
Blankenship pushes Sleiman off and gets back to his feet. Sleiman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Sleiman trying to control the pace. Blankenship has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Sleiman is on him like a limpet, forcing Blankenship back against the cage. Blankenship displaying some good clinch control by pressing Sleiman up against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sleiman turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Blankenship pushes Sleiman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sleiman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sleiman stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sleiman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sleiman lands in his opponent's guard. Blankenship keeping moving, preventing Sleiman from controlling successfully. Sleiman is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blankenship wants to get back to his feet but Sleiman is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sleiman stands and throws Blankenship's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sleiman tries to stand but Blankenship is controlling his head. Blankenship wants to get back to his feet but Sleiman drags him back down. Mohammed Sleiman has got the better of the ground game so far. Sleiman tries to stand but Blankenship is controlling his head. Sleiman landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mohammed Sleiman will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Sleiman walks into a stiff left hand from Blankenship. Blankenship throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Blankenship bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sleiman's head backwards. Blankenship is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship tries to sprawl but Sleiman drives through with a takedown into half guard. Sleiman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blankenship sees it coming and defends easily. Sleiman passes to side control. Blankenship being controlled for a moment. Check out the look on Sleiman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Sleiman tries to stand but Blankenship is controlling his head. Blankenship gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sleiman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Sleiman is looking to take Blankenship's back but instead Blankenship gets back to half guard. Nice work. Sleiman stands up from half guard. Blankenship lands a slapping body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blankenship gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sleiman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sleiman is standing up over Blankenship. Blankenship looks to escape but Sleiman dives into side control.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sleiman tries to stand but Blankenship is controlling his head. Blankenship wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Blankenship pushes Sleiman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sleiman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sleiman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blankenship, who protects the arm well. Blankenship is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sleiman has just dragged him back down to the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Mohammed Sleiman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sleiman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
