Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aurelio Osborne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Bonebraker! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osborne gets a takedown into half guard. Bonebraker kicks Osborne off and gets back to his feet. Osborne tries to sprawl but Bonebraker drives through with a takedown into half guard. Osborne might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Osborne is trying to get back to full guard. Osborne could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bonebraker winds up and cracks Osborne with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Well, if Bonebraker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bonebraker winds up and cracks Osborne with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bonebraker stands up and beckons Osborne to join him on the feet. Bonebraker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Osborne, pushing him back against the cage. Bonebraker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bonebraker manages to end up in side control. Osborne being controlled for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Osborne taking a bit of punishment here - Bonebraker scoring with strikes. Osborne is looking to regain half guard here but Bonebraker keeps moving and retains side control. Bonebraker controlling the position. Bonebraker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Bonebraker working the ground and pound.
It looks like Aurelio Osborne has been cut. Bonebraker working the ground and pound. Osborne is looking for a sweep. Osborne gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Osborne manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bonebraker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonebraker gets to his feet and stands over Osborne, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Osborne felt that one! Bonebraker unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Osborne from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Bonebraker! John Bonebraker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
