The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villarreal throws a body shot but no joy.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Villarreal.
Holyfield checks the leg kick nicely there.
Holyfield takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Holyfield shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Villarreal has momentary wrist control but Holyfield slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holyfield trying to control the position from guard on top but Villarreal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Holyfield looking to sit in guard and control but Villarreal gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Holyfield seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
