PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ken Stabler (ranked 5262 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Moore (ranked 5540 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Stabler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Moore!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore connects with an inside leg kick.
Stabler fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Moore throws a leg kick
and Stabler counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Moore is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Stabler moves out of range as Moore throws a body kick.
Stabler is looking to counter the offense by Moore and move into the clinch.
Stabler checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Stabler avoids the head kick by Moore.
Moore fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Stabler crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Moore - the referee stops the clock and Stabler gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Moore. Stabler manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Stabler avoids a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Moore lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Stabler has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Stabler and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Stabler attempts a counter takedown but Moore avoids it well and moves away.
Moore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stabler feinted with a counter takedown.
Moore throws a sloppy head kick and Stabler moves out of range easily.

Stabler avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Stabler tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Moore manages to circle out of the way.
Stabler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Angelo Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moore throws a head kick that Stabler semi-blocks.
Moore throws a wild body kick that Stabler sees coming a mile off.
Stabler attempts a counter takedown but Moore avoids it well and moves away.
Stabler fails with a takedown attempt.
Stabler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Moore manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Moore does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Stabler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moore avoids it really well and circles away.

Stabler tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Stabler steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Moore. That one must have hurt.
Moore throws a push kick but Stabler slaps the foot to one side.
Moore misses with an attempted mid kick.
Moore lands a leg kick that knocks Stabler off balance momentarily.
A thudding body kick lands there by Moore!
Moore fakes the leg kick and cracks Stabler in the body.
Moore tries to score with a low kick but Stabler moves his leg out of the way.
Stabler is looking to counter with head kicks.
Moore lands a leg kick that knocks Stabler off balance momentarily.
Moore throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stabler.
Moore fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stabler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

As Moore looks to move away, Stabler throws a big counter combo but Moore just gets out of the way.
Moore lands a head kick. Stabler smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Stabler drops down looking for a counter takedown but Moore sprawls and moves away.
Stabler will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Moore.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Moore feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Stabler's calf.
Moore misses with a body kick.
Stabler drops down looking for a counter takedown but Moore sprawls and moves away.
Ken Stabler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moore throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Stabler moves out of range of the leg kick from Moore.

Stabler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Moore was covering up waiting for the punch and Stabler finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Moore has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Moore managing to control the position.
Moore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stabler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Moore controls Stabler momentarily but Stabler frees himself.
Stabler is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stabler trying to control the position from guard on top but Moore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Stabler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Moore keeping moving, preventing Stabler from controlling successfully.
Stabler is fighting to break Moore's control of his arms but Moore is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Moore is looking to slow Stabler down with leg kicks.
Stabler is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Moore throws a lazy body kick

and Stabler decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Moore's guard.
Stabler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moore swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stabler drops back looking for a leg! Moore is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moore manages to kick Stabler off! Stabler jumps back into Moore's guard.

Stabler trying to control the position from guard on top but Moore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Stabler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stabler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Angelo Moore will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
