The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avery closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Avery can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dedmon controls the pace.
Dedmon wants to control from the top but Avery keeps moving.

Dedmon wants to stand and escape but instead Avery has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dedmon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avery. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dedmon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dedmon tries to close the distance and clinch but Avery swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dedmon is looking to stall in half guard but Avery is in no mood to hang around. He's locked up a Kimura from the bottom and has used it to sweep! He's held on to the kimura and is looking to finish here... will he get it... YES! Dedmon taps out and the crowd goes crazy! Great finish!
