Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rigoberto Gonzales (ranked 25046 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Sleiman (ranked 6628 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rigoberto Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohammed Sleiman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sleiman throws a series of strikes that have Gonzales backpedaling.


Gonzales is rocked!

Sleiman takes the fight into the clinch.
Oh Gonzales is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Sleiman pulls guard.
Sleiman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Gonzales wanted to stand there but Sleiman had control of the position.
Sleiman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sleiman is on top in guard.

Sleiman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gonzales can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sleiman controls the pace.

Gonzales wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sleiman has him pressed against the cage.

Gonzales is trying to maintain a safe position but Sleiman gets an underhook and turns Gonzales into the cage.

Sleiman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gonzales knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sleiman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gonzales has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gonzales has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sleiman is working away from the top position though.
Sleiman slows the pace down in half guard.
Gonzales gets back to full guard.
Sleiman distracts Gonzales with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gonzales isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sleiman stacks Gonzales on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sleiman!
Sleiman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gonzales!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sleiman throws a lazy head kick
and Gonzales counters with a stiff right hand.

Sleiman clinches with his opponent.
Sleiman scores a nice knee to the body.

Sleiman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gonzales closes the distance and clinches up with Sleiman, looking for a takedown. Gonzales pushes Sleiman against the cage but Sleiman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sleiman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Gonzales is staying active underneath Sleiman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzales is looking to control Sleiman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gonzales avoid being mounted?

Sleiman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gonzales has his foot on Sleiman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sleiman works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Gonzales counters with a nice body shot.

Sleiman takes the fight into the clinch.

Gonzales goes for a takedown attempt but Sleiman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sleiman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzales to the ground. Sleiman is now in Gonzales's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzales is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gonzales will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sleiman cracks Gonzales with a solid left hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gonzales is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gonzales is on top in guard.

Sleiman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sleiman is pulling down on Gonzales's head. It's preventing any offense from Gonzales, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Sleiman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gonzales wants to get up but he can't break Sleiman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mohammed Sleiman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sleiman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gonzales is looking to escape.

Sleiman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gonzales looks a forlorn figure.

Gonzales is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Mohammed Sleiman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sleiman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
