Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bradley Bates!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bates tightens his grip and picks Jackson up, before dumping him to the ground. Jackson manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson controls Bates momentarily but Bates frees himself.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bates controls the pace.
Bates with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bates seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jackson really is a fat lump.
Bates is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bates wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Bates stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bates shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jackson is trying to defend but Bates finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bates looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Jackson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bates is looking to advance position but Jackson won't allow it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jackson is holding on to half guard well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Bates is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackson's half guard.

Bates looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jackson trying to control here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bates in particular looking to stall.
Jackson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jackson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bates is working for a submission of some sort.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bates shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Jackson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bates is on him like a limpet, forcing Jackson back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bradley Bates dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Bates.
Jackson is being controlled here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bates wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Bates wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.

Jackson wants to control but Bates postures up.

Bates goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jackson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bates's guard! Nice work there by Jackson!

Jackson throws a big elbow that misses.
Jackson won't allow Bates to sweep him here.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jackson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Bates has wrist control.

Jackson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bates, up you get!

Bates takes the fight into the clinch.
Bates is trying to break the clinch but Jackson is controlling him.
Bates softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bradley Bates is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Bates had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Lon Jackson has been cut.
