PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corban Storm (ranked 667 p4p, 88 weight class) and Jan Kriel (ranked 826 p4p, 108 weight class). Kriel has chosen Fokofpolisiekar - Fokofpolisiekar as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corban Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Storm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Storm throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kriel works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kriel wants to control but Storm is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Storm bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kriel's head backwards.
Storm lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kriel will feel that in the morning.
A punch lands to the side of Kriel 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corban Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm goes for a double leg but Kriel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kriel continues to drive forward.
