Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Whittaker (ranked 4076 p4p, 382 weight class) and David DeCastro (ranked 3114 p4p, 321 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Whittaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David DeCastro! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whittaker wants to clinch but DeCastro slips to the side and Whittaker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Whittaker shoots in for a takedown but DeCastro shows good takedown defense. A countering left hand to the body from DeCastro misses. Whittaker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. DeCastro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. DeCastro circles away from the clinch attempt and Whittaker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Whittaker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. DeCastro throws out a counter right but Whittaker avoids it with no problem. DeCastro swats away the attempt to clinch by Whittaker. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whittaker fails in his attempt to clinch. Whittaker clinches. DeCastro holding his opponent close, against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whittaker misses with a hook to the ribs.
DeCastro is trying to push Whittaker away but Whittaker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that DeCastro has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. DeCastro lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. DeCastro prevents a body shot from Whittaker. DeCastro wants to get back to striking at distance but Whittaker won't allow it.
Whittaker's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! DeCastro manages to break the clinch.
DeCastro circles away from the clinch attempt and DeCastro counters with a one-two to the body.
Whittaker is rocked! Whittaker tries for a takedown but DeCastro circles away easily and DeCastro counters with a big left hand that crumples Whittaker! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David DeCastro! David DeCastro decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
