And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nelson Quinteros!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan misses with a double jab.
Quinteros sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Quinteros misses with a two punch combination.
Morgan looks to land a combination but Quinteros avoids it well.
Morgan swings widly with a right hand
and Quinteros cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Quinteros gets a clinch.
Morgan can't break the clinch.
Quinteros avoiding damage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Morgan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
I was talking to Morgan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quinteros tries to land a knee to the head but Morgan blocks with his arms.

Quinteros lands a left and a right that send Morgan crashing to the mat, dazed. Quinteros thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Morgan is rocked!
Quinteros lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morgan circles away quickly and effectively.
Morgan appears to be looking for a big counter.
Oh Morgan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Quinteros lands with a right and another and another! Morgan is in big trouble! Quinteros lands again and this time it's lights out for Morgan! A quality knockout there for Quinteros.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nelson Quinteros! Nelson Quinteros retains his welterweight title!
Our winner, Nelson Quinteros, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
