Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Patterson (ranked 5453 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Stabler (ranked 6808 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Stabler will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Stabler! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patterson closes the distance and clinches. Patterson has clasped his hands together around Stabler's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Patterson lands an elbow. Stabler can't do much from the bottom here. Patterson cracks Stabler with a big elbow. Stabler takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Stabler trying to remain calm as Patterson controls from the top position. Patterson really is a fat lump. Patterson cracks Stabler with a big right hand but Stabler just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Patterson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Patterson is working Stabler over with some ground and pound from side control. A lull in the action here. Patterson lands some shots froms side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stabler struggling a bit here. Patterson in side control lands a decent elbow. Patterson lands some shots froms side control. Stabler is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Patterson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stabler takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Patterson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stabler's shoulder. That is not cool. Patterson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Patterson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stabler for as long as he can get away with. Patterson working the body and head with strikes. Patterson is chipping away with strikes.
The referee asks Patterson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Patterson prefers to stall for the moment though. Patterson is putting a hurting on Stabler here, landing some big shots from side control. Patterson grinds an elbow into Stabler's temple.

The referee takes a look at Stabler to see if he's OK. Stabler takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Patterson has his foot on Stabler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stabler works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson wants to stand but Stabler is controlling the position. Stabler is breathing heavily. Stabler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stabler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Stabler trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Stabler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Patterson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patterson is on top in guard.
Patterson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patterson wants to stand but Stabler is controlling his posture from full guard. Patterson scoring with punches to the head and body. Patterson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Patterson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Patterson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Stabler's head. Patterson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Patterson distracts Stabler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Patterson working some strikes from top position. Stabler is looking for a triangle but Patterson pushes his legs off easily.
Patterson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Patterson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stabler can do to turn this around? Patterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Patterson closes the distance and clinches. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patterson jumps into guard, dragging Stabler to the mat.

Frankie Patterson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Patterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Patterson lands with a punch from half guard. Patterson is nestled in close to Stabler, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Patterson is controlling the pace.

Patterson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Stabler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Patterson lands a nice short elbow. Patterson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Patterson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stabler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Patterson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Stabler is trying to maintain the position but Patterson is very close to passing his half guard.

Patterson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Stabler trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom. Stabler wanted to stand there but Patterson had control of the position. Patterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stabler's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! Frankie Patterson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Patterson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
