Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between TJ Goodard (ranked 2026 p4p, 279 weight class) and Trevor Lee (ranked 1732 p4p, 234 weight class). Goodard comes to the cage accompanied by Rise of the Titans by-DIMMU BORGIR. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, TJ Goodard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trevor Lee! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Goodard persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing. Lee only half commits to the counter leg kick. Lee stuffs the takedown. We've been hearing reports that Goodard has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. TJ Goodard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Goodard with a lazy takedown attempt and Lee counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Goodard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee lands with a right hand. Goodard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes. Goodard shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lee looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Lee fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Goodard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Goodard chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lee can pounce on him.
Lee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Goodard's head.
It looks like TJ Goodard has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Lee misses the target. Goodard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lee to the ground. Goodard is now in Lee's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goodard looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Goodard trying to strike off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goodard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Goodard will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Goodard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Goodard trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Goodard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Goodard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well. Lee controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Goodard tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Goodard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lee stacks Goodard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lee! Goodard wants to control but Lee postures up. Goodard is trying to get back to half guard. Goodard struggling a bit here. Goodard striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Goodard is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lee off and has taken his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goodard is landing with strikes from the back. Lee tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Goodard unloads with some shots from mount but Lee bucks and avoids them well.

Lucky escape for Lee because Goodard loaded up on that one. Lee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Lee is trying desperately to improve position. Goodard throwing strikes here but Lee is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goodard throws some wild stikes that Lee manages to avoid easily.
Goodard scoring with strikes but Lee is staying in there. Lee is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Goodard landing shots from mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lee can do anything to dispel that myth. Lee is in a horrible position here. Goodard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Goodard putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Lee takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Goodard trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lee felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Goodard throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. and Lee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Goodard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Goodard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around? Goodard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lee. Lee appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lee throws a nice inside leg kick. Goodard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lee counters with an inside leg kick. Goodard misses with a looping left. Lee chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Goodard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee throws a right hand that Goodard ducks under and follows up with a left that Goodard also avoids with ease. Trevor Lee seems to be getting the better of the standup. A slow jab from Lee misses its intended target. Goodard shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Goodard. Goodard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Goodard's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Goodard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard. Goodard working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Goodard throwing strikes but missing. Lee keeping moving, preventing Goodard from controlling successfully. That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Goodard postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Goodard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Goodard is looking to work some ground and pound but Lee has wrist control. Goodard throws an elbow that misses. Lee uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goodard's guard. Nice move by Lee!
Goodard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lee is aware though and is defending well. Goodard looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lee passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Goodard struggling a bit here. Goodard tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it. Goodard manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Goodard misses with a head shot. Lee uses the momentum to regain guard. Lee wants to sweep but no luck. Goodard lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goodard dives in for a single leg takedown but Lee sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Goodard shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Goodard avoids the head kick by Lee.

and Lee makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Goodard stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lee. Lee lands a body shot.

Goodard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Goodard looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Lee is avoiding damage well.
Goodard is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Goodard scoring with punches from side control. Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Goodard working the ground and pound but Lee is defending the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee parries the strikes from Goodard easily there. Goodard is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lee to escape.
TJ Goodard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lee tries to get back to half guard but can't. Goodard scoring with punches from side control. Goodard trying to control the action but Lee is working from the bottom. Goodard working the ground and pound. Goodard throwing strikes but Lee manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Goodard tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lee wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee controls the position. Lee prevents Goodard from escaping the position. Lee working away. Goodard is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lee asserts his dominance and retains side control. Goodard can't do much from the bottom here. Trevor Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Goodard tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lee wants to stand but Goodard has his arm trapped. Goodard is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Goodard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Goodard looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
And that's the end of the fight! Trevor Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Goodard has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
