PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelinho Lima (ranked 1871 p4p, 211 weight class) and Jackin Off (ranked 3935 p4p, 391 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima clobbers Off with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Lima uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Off.
Lima throws a hook to the side of Off's head but Off sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Off unleashes a big counter combination but Lima bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lima takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Off lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Lima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Off looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A quick step to the side and Lima tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Off uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lima.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcelinho Lima will probably get the nod.

Lima is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lima pushes down on Off's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lima is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Off doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lima.

Lima has gone for a leg lock! Off slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lima's guard.

Off must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Off stands up from Lima's guard - Off perhaps looking for a knockout.
Lima feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Offs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Off moves out of range of the strikes.

Lima cracks Off with a good jab.
Off thuds a left hand into Lima's body.

A quick step to the side and Lima tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lima tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Off defends well and Lima ends up having to push Off into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Off's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lima under the eye.

Lima looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lima is controlling the pace.
Off really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lima's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lima is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Off defends it well.

That's time! Lima's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Off cracks Lima with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Off shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lima eats them both and turns towards Off to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Lima is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Off knocks Lima out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
