Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fransisco Gonzalez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce throws a wild body kick that Gonzalez sees coming a mile off.
Bruce throws a head kick but Gonzalez moves out of range.
Bruce misses with a leg kick.
As Bruce backs off Gonzalez throws a huge counter combo but Bruce manages to avoid it all.
Gonzalez shoots for a takedown but Bruce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A clash of legs there as Gonzalez blocks the low kick.
Bruce scores with a nice head shot.
Gonzalez shoots in and drives through. Bruce sprawls well.
Bruce swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bruce misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gonzalez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bruce sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Robert Bruce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fransisco Gonzalez.
Bruce throws a solid leg kick but Gonzalez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bruce.
Bruce loads up on a big right hand but Gonzalez slips the punch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bruce. That's going to slow Gonzalez down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bruce gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gonzalez to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzalez prevents Bruce from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bruce manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Gonzalez fails to pull guard.
Bruce is leaning against Gonzalez and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Gonzalez breaks from the clinch.
Bruce throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bruce leaves Gonzalez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gonzalez tries a low kick but Bruce avoids it.
Gonzalez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bruce pinned against the cage. Bruce gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gonzalez shoots for a takedown but Bruce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've been told by Bruce's head coaches at Grind Time [ *Double Elite Coaches] that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Gonzalez dives in and scores a takedown into Bruce's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bruce kicks Gonzalez off and gets to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gonzalez or perhaps it was just good defense by Bruce, which made it look bad.

Bruce lands a left and a right that send Gonzalez crashing to the mat, dazed. Bruce thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bruce lands a brutal head kick. Gonzalez looks out on his feet and Bruce throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Robert Bruce!
