The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christie throws a right and a left that Karim avoids nicely.
Christie shoots for a takedown but Karim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Christie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karim swivels and escapes.
Christie throws a sloppy head kick

so Karim counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Christie is looking to stand back up but Karim counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Christie.

Karim seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karim wants to work for an arm triangle but Christie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karim takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Karim perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Christie tries to kick Karim off in order to stand up. Karim Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Christie is looking to regain half guard here but Karim keeps moving and retains side control.

Christie tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Karim easily slips into full mount!
