Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luther Head (ranked 7214 p4p, 0 weight class) and Han Morrison (ranked 5406 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Luther Head has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luther Head! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Han Morrison! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morrison steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Head. Morrison drives through with a takedown into Head's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Head trying to keep a closed guard but Morrison is proving a slippery customer.
Morrison controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Morrison's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Head looking to control but Morrison passes into half guard.
Head has hold of Morrison's hands but Morrison slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Head knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morrison on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Head is trying to control but can't.
Morrison is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Head throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Head is trying to maintain the position but Morrison is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morrison is figuring out what he wants to do next. Morrison is thwarting Head's attempts to control the position. Head is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morrison is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Morrison looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Morrison takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Morrison is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morrison is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Head is looking to control Morrison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Head avoid being mounted? Morrison with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Head throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Morrison tries to stand but can't do so whilst Head controls his leg. Head tries to kick Morrison off but Morrison keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morrison is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Head defends it well. Morrison takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Morrison might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Nice strikes from Morrison there. Morrison tries to pass to full mount but Head defends it. Morrison trying to control the pace. Head trying to get back to full guard but Morrison takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Morrison lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Head is rocked! Morrison takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Oh Head is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Morrison cracks Head with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Han Morrison!
