The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonza bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Perez's head.
Gonza connects with a looping right hand.
Gonza throws an ugly left hook that misses

Gonza slips a jab from Perez.
Perez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Perez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gonza.

Gonza has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gonza rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Perez counters with a nice right hand that sends Gonza toppling to the canvas! Gonza scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Perez finish him?!
It looks like Captain Gonza has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gonza's calf.
We've been told by Perez's head coaches at Gym Boiks that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gonza pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A little feinted left hand from Perez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gonza motions for Perez to come forward. Gonza throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gonza misses with a wild body shot.
It looked like Perez was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gonza.
Gonza throws a jab but it's blocked by Perez.
Perez is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Gonza looks to land a right hand but Perez moved out of range.
Gonza throws a leg kick which misses Perez's front leg but catches the back leg as Perez tries to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez keeps the fight on the outside.
The fighters circling - Perez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gonza throws out a loose jab but Perez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Perez throwing a counter right hand but Gonza manages to avoid it.
Gonza lands a right hook to the body.
Perez lands a big right hand that sends Gonza crashing to the mat! Perez stays standing though and waves Gonza back to his feet!
Gonza is rocked!

and Perez counters with a huge right that knocks Gonza out cold! Perez is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
