Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hatfield McCoy (ranked 2275 p4p, 261 weight class) and Edvard Grieg (ranked 3824 p4p, 394 weight class). McCoy comes into the arena with Dueling Banjos blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edvard Grieg!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy misses with a straight left.
McCoy thuds his right hand into Grieg's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
No joy there for McCoy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Grieg tries to land a front kick but McCoy steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Grieg misses the shot to the body.
A counter left hand to the body from McCoy misses its target.
McCoy closes the distance but Grieg moves to the side
and Grieg counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
McCoy throws an off balance right hand
and Grieg counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCoy is looking to land body kicks.
McCoy misses with a hook
and Grieg counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McCoy thinking.
Grieg is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
McCoy lands with a straight right. Grieg didn't see that one coming.

and McCoy counters with a left to the body.
Grieg connects with a good right hand that stumbles McCoy. McCoy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Hatfield McCoy has been cut.
Grieg misses with a hook
and McCoy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Grieg throws the kick towards the body but McCoy avoids it.
McCoy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Grieg appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
McCoy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
McCoy throws a nice inside leg kick.
McCoy misses with a low kick.
McCoy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCoy tried to score with a low kick but Grieg checks it.
McCoy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Grieg throws a right and a left that both miss.
McCoy connects with a body shot that sends Grieg's belly button to the back.
Grieg lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Grieg takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
McCoy misses with a double jab.
A head kick misses from Grieg.
McCoy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCoy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Grieg counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Grieg misses with a kick to the body.
Grieg thows a left - swing and a miss!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grieg throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McCoy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McCoy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Grieg connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McCoy scrambles back to his feet.
McCoy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Grieg.
McCoy slips under a jab from Grieg.
Grieg missing with a left hand there. McCoy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Grieg rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McCoy counters by moving into the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Edvard Grieg will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Hatfield McCoy's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Grieg misses with a leg kick
and McCoy counters with a series of strikes. Grieg will be more careful next time no doubt.
Good leg kick by McCoy there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McCoy connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Grieg's hands.
Grieg jabs McCoy right on the nose. McCoy blinks but takes it well.
A momentary lapse in concentration from McCoy enables Grieg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McCoy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCoy is rocked!
Grieg postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! McCoy covers up, he's hurt! Grieg keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Grieg and the ref steps in to end the fight! Grieg can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edvard Grieg!
An out of breath Edvard Grieg thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
