Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Javier Dodson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Marshall! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dodson dives in for a single leg takedown but Marshall sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Marshall tries to clinch but Dodson moves out of range. Marshall looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dodson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Dodson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marshall sprawls well. Marshall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dodson gets slowly back to his feet. Marshall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dodson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Dodson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshall swings away with a leg kick that misses. It looked like Dodson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall misses with a double jab.
Marshall tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dodson counters with a left and a right that stings Marshall. Dodson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Marshall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall tries to clinch but Dodson is having none of it. It looked like Dodson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. James Marshall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dodson just misses with a punch to the body.
Marshall tries to clinch and Dodson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Marshall looks winded! Marshall wants to clinch up but Dodson keeps it at a distance. Marshall throws a leg kick that is checked and Dodson counters with a takedown into side control. Marshall bucks up and tries to throw Dodson off but instead Dodson has got his back! Dodson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Marshall. Dodson sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Marshall taps out!
