Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bea Mason (ranked 2559 p4p, 331 weight class) and Alexander Porto (ranked 3974 p4p, 461 weight class). Bea Mason could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alexander Porto's chin.

15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexander Porto! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mason is trying to control the action in half guard but Porto is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Porto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mason pulls his head out easily. Porto controlling the position well. Mason controlling the action here. Mason trying to mount his opponent but Porto defends it. Porto actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Porto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Porto is refusing to be controlled, as Mason sits in half guard.

Mason looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Porto with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Porto looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Porto is looking to improve his position.

Porto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mason. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mason uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Porto. Mason shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Porto but Porto pushes him off and we're back to square one. It looks like Bea Mason has been cut. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Porto just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mason's brow. Porto tries to work over Mason's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Mason is trying to drag Porto to the mat but Porto just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mason trying to land knees to the body.

Mason is looking to take this one to the mat. Mason jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Porto throws out a loose jab but Mason uses good head movement to avoid it. Porto loads up on a big right hand but Mason slips the punch. Alexander Porto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Porto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Porto wants it to stay on the feet. Porto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Porto moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Mason shoots in for a takedown but Porto shows good takedown defense. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mason fails with the takedown. Porto looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Porto darts in and clinches Mason up against the cage. A right hand to the body from Porto.

Porto is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Porto is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mason.
