Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Horowich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lew Rockwell! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockwell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Horowich has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rockwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rockwell slips nicely into half guard. Rockwell is looking for a kimura here.
Rockwell is working for a submission of some sort.
Rockwell is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Horowich! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horowich wants to hold on but Rockwell pushes him away. Rockwell looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Rockwell working for a guillotine from mount but Horowich is in no mood to give up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horowich stops Rockwell from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Rockwell takes Horowich's back. Rockwell looking for the choke but no joy. Horowich fending off the submission attempt from Rockwell.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rockwell working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Rockwell is persistently looking for the submission but Horowich is defending it well.
Horowich trying to control the hands but Rockwell breaks the grip.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horowich turns into Rockwell and is now in his guard.
Horowich advances position into side control! Horowich trying to control the position but Rockwell is working away. Rockwell tries to improve position but can't. Horowich is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rockwell is trying to escape and Horowich transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rockwell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Horowich! Very nice indeed!
