Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Rilley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Pierotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliver Pierotti told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbie Rilley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oliver Pierotti! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierotti wants to clinch up but Rilley keeps it at a distance. Rilley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rilley decides to stand back up. Rilley steps back and let's Pierotti get back to his feet. Rilley misses with a takedown attempt - Pierotti sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pierotti shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pierotti looks for the body kick but Rilley saw that one coming. Rilley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pierotti shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pierotti showed some decent athleticism there. Rilley manages to get to full guard.
Rilley throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pierotti escapes and throws Rilley's legs to the side, diving into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierotti landing strikes. Rilley tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Pierotti presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierotti looking to control but Rilley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rilley wants to get back to his feet.
Pierotti thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Rilley avoids a series of strikes thrown by Pierotti.
Rilley is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pierotti takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rilley is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Pierotti can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rilley is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rilley is looking to get to half guard. Pierotti wants to control the pace but Rilley is squirming around nicely. Rilley can't escape the position.
Pierotti takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rilley manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rilley tries to get to full guard but Pierotti has control of the leg. Pierotti sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rilley defending well though. Rilley tries to kick Pierotti off but Pierotti keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rilley is breathing heavily. Pierotti working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Rilley is staying active underneath Pierotti, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Rilley wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rilley dodges the punch combination from Pierotti.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rilley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pierotti moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rilley lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pierotti has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pierotti and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pierotti fails with a takedown attempt. Pierotti shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rilley as he jumps to the side. Robbie Rilley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Pierotti. Horrible takedown by Rilley or perhaps it was just good defense by Pierotti which made him look bad. Rilley shoots and misses and Pierotti counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rilley's guard now. Rilley looking for a sweep. Not yet Rilley, not yet. Pierotti slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierotti is trying to land a reversal but Rilley doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle. Rilley is tightening it up though! This could be trouble for Pierotti! Pierotti trying desperately to escape but he's gone limp! He's out! Wooooorld class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Rilley!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Robbie Rilley!
