Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Mueller (ranked 7743 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Garcia (ranked 8500 p4p, 0 weight class). Sammy Garcia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodrigo Mueller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Garcia!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mueller swings for the body but Garcia moves out of range.
Garcia keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mueller throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Garcia on the side of the head.
Mueller closes the distance and pushes Garcia back into the cage.
Garcia jumps guard but Mueller stands there with Garcia around his waist. Garcia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mueller lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Mueller lands a left hand that snaps the head of Garcia backwards.
Mueller has Garcia pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mueller pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Garcia tumbling to the mat - Mueller dives into Garcia's guard.

Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mueller is one step ahead there.

Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mueller's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mueller wants to stand and escape but Garcia is having none of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mueller. Garcia does a little dance to reset his feet.
Garcia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mueller counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Mueller jumps into guard, dragging Garcia to the mat.

Mueller wants to stand and escape but Garcia is having none of it.

Garcia throws an elbow that misses. Mueller uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Garcia's guard. Nice move by Mueller!
Garcia had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mueller defends it easily.
Mueller with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Garcia is trying to keep Mueller in close.

Garcia looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Garcia is trying to control the position but Mueller postures up.
Mueller is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Garcia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Garcia has escaped and now he's on top!
Mueller is pulling down on Garcia's head to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Mueller dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mueller has managed to clinch.
Mueller has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Garcia uses from the top position.
Garcia is fighting to break Mueller's control of his arms but Mueller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Garcia postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Garcia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mueller haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mueller wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mueller misses with a hook to the body
and Garcia connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mueller throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Mueller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mueller rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garcia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice straight punches there by Garcia. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Garcia.
Garcia slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Garcia's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Garcia duly obliges.

and Mueller counters by clinching up.

A bit of stalling here from Mueller.
Mueller jumps into guard, dragging Garcia to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garcia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mueller's head.
Garcia is trying to control the action in half guard but Mueller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mueller pushes Garcia off and gets back to his feet.
Mueller closes the distance and clinches.
Mueller tightens his grip and picks Garcia up, before dumping him to the ground. Garcia manages to land in guard.

Rodrigo Mueller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Garcia is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mueller frees his head nicely. Oh but Garcia has switched to an armbar! Mueller is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
