The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Causey drives through with a takedown into guard.
Causey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Witt's guard.
Causey showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Witt pulls Causey in close to his closed guard and prevents Causey from doing any damage or advancing position.

Causey stays in close to Witt's body and controls the position.
Causey stands up over Witt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Witt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Causey is one step ahead there.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Causey clinches.
Causey has Witt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Causey pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Witt tumbling to the mat - Causey dives into Witt's guard.
Witt is looking to stand back up but Causey counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Witt.
Causey is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Causey goes for an armbar but Witt turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Witt.

Witt won't allow Causey to sweep him here.
Causey has his foot on Witt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Witt works his way back into a safe position though.
Causey wants to stand up but Witt is controlling him.

Witt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Witt drops back, looking for a kneebar! Causey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Causey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Causey!
Causey lands a nice forearm strike.
Causey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Causey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Witt is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Witt is trying to get back to half guard.

Witt is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The referee asks Causey politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Causey prefers to stall for the moment though.
Brett Causey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Causey looking to control but instead Witt has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Causey uses his free foot to push down on Witt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Witt.

Causey controlling the position easily from mount.
Causey looking for a guillotine from mount but Witt is having none of it.
Witt tries to reverse the position but Causey maintains control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Causey content just to control the position here.
Witt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brett Causey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Causey gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Witt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Causey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Witt's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Causey breaks the clinch.
Causey feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Witt has his feet on Causey's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Causey gets a takedown into half guard.
Witt has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Causey is on him like a limpet, forcing Witt back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Causey jumps guard and drags Witt to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Witt is sitting in close to Causey's body. Causey has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Witt is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Witt is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Causey.
