Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seth Bennett (ranked 5577 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Pierre (ranked 5884 p4p, 0 weight class). John Pierre is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Seth Bennett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Pierre! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bennett shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pierre defends it nicely. Bennett darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bennett thows a huge punch but Pierre dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pierre pushes Bennett off but Bennett dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bennett sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Pierre is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bennett throws a strike aimed at the side of Pierre's head but Pierre avoids it well. Bennett working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bennett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bennett tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bennett misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bennett throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Pierre regains half guard, as Bennett was trying to land strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre is trying to stand up here but Bennett is controlling him well. Pierre felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pierre works his way to full guard. Good work. Pierre wants to stand up but Bennett is controlling him. Bennett postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bennett won't allow Pierre to sweep him here. Pierre trying to control the position here. Pierre utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennett content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bennett throws a strike but Pierre rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bennett throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Bennett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pierre lands a couple of decent looking shots. Pierre with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pierre preventing the sweep. Pierre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bennett wants to sweep but no luck. Pierre sitting in guard here, content to control. Bennett doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bennett shoots in for a takedown but Pierre shows good takedown defense. Bennett is breathing heavily. Pierre shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Pierre controlling the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pierre working the head and body with strikes. Bennett moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bennett working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pierre has passed into half guard!

Pierre keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Bennett throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bennett thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Bennett lands with a punch from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pierre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bennett. Pierre is looking for a sweep. Bennett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pierre is trying to stand back up but Bennett is controlling him
Pierre desperately trying to maintain half guard. Pierre slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Bennett loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pierre is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pierre prevents Bennett from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bennett. Pierre trying to control the pace. Bennett is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Pierre jumps into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bennett trying to remain calm as Pierre controls from the top position. Bennett tries to buck Pierre off but Pierre is having none of it. Pierre controls the position. Bennett is trying to get back to half guard. Bennett is being controlled here. Bennett tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pierre wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pierre decides to stand back up. Bennett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. He's got his arms around Bennett's waist but Bennett gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pierre off to one side. A close second round but John Pierre will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Bennett shoots for a takedown but Pierre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pierre shoots in looking for a takedown but Bennett manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pierre's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sloppy strikes from Pierre. Those never looked like landing. Pierre moves into the clinch. Bennett manages to break the clinch.

Pierre displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bennett. Pierre closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pierre wants to stand but Bennett is controlling his arm. Pierre has knee on belly and moves into mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pierre controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennett sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. John Pierre has got the better of the ground game so far. Pierre looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Pierre performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bennett wants to get back to full guard but Pierre has passed into side control. Bennett tries to buck Pierre off but Pierre is having none of it. Pierre is staying tight to Bennett's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bennett sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Bennett is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bennett tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Pierre has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
And that's the end of the fight! John Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
