Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Johnson (ranked 6012 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vaso Bakocevic (ranked 5598 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vaso Bakocevic! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bakocevic throws a head kick that misses. Bakocevic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely. Bakocevic clinches with his opponent.
Johnson can't get the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bakocevic drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bakocevic breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bakocevic throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson. Johnson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Bakocevic looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Johnson! Bakocevic wants to stand but Johnson has his arm trapped. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bakocevic wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Bakocevic trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Johnson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bakocevic thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bakocevic is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Johnson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Bakocevic working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is trying to escape the position but Bakocevic is controlling the position. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bakocevic wants to stand but Johnson has his arm trapped.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson enables Bakocevic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bakocevic cracks Johnson with a solid left hand. Bakocevic wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Bakocevic wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position. Bakocevic is working Johnson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bakocevic wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Bakocevic avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Bakocevic from controlling successfully. Johnson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson looking to control.
Bakocevic is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Let's hope that Bakocevic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vaso Bakocevic dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt and Johnson counters with a series of strikes. Bakocevic will be more careful next time no doubt. Johnson misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bakocevic closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johnson tries to bench press Bakocevic off him but Bakocevic keeps the position. Bakocevic is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson is trying to control Bakocevic's posture but Bakocevic avoids it. Bakocevic taking a breather here. Bakocevic lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Johnson down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bakocevic content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Johnson tries to escape but Bakocevic is in control. Johnson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Johnson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bakocevic has just dragged him back down to the mat. Johnson is trying to control Bakocevic's posture but Bakocevic avoids it. Bakocevic working away diligently from side control. A lull in the action here. Johnson wants to control but Bakocevic postures up. Johnson tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Bakocevic sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Johnson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is trying to stand up. Bakocevic looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Bakocevic sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vaso Bakocevic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Bakocevic scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Bakocevic is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Bakocevic has managed to sneak the leg through. Bakocevic is taking a breather. Johnson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bakocevic slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead. Bakocevic is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bakocevic to get the leverage. Johnson is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work. Bakocevic controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bakocevic stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him. Johnson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bakocevic backs up against the cage.
Bakocevic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bakocevic lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bakocevic has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bakocevic controlling from the top position. Bakocevic tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom. Johnson wants to sweep here but Bakocevic controlling him for the moment. Johnson wants to control the position but Bakocevic says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bakocevic is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bakocevic drops an elbow to the side of Johnson's head. Bakocevic prevents Johnson from standing back up.
Bakocevic content to control rather than advance. Joey Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Vaso Bakocevic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Bakocevic winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
