Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Noneya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Williams! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams dives in and scores a takedown into Noneya's guard. Noneya lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Williams wants to stand but Noneya is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Noneya advances position into side control! Noneya has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Williams! Noneya tries to control but Williams wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Noneya tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Noneya tries to control but Williams wriggling away. Williams squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noneya controlling the position easily from mount. Noneya wants to control the pace but Williams is squirming around nicely. Williams is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Noneya tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. You get the feeling that Williams really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Williams is bucking up trying to escape but Noneya cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Williams really wants to buck Noneya off and get back to his feet. Noneya looking to control and managing it successfully. Noneya is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Williams has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Noneya working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Noneya looking to control but Williams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jake Noneya dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Noneya tries for a takedown but Williams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Williams swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Noneya is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? A momentary lapse in concentration from Noneya enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Noneya manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Noneya bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard. Williams keeping moving, preventing Noneya from controlling successfully. Williams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Noneya is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Noneya is pushing down on Williams's leg trying to pass to half guard. Williams is fighting to maintain full guard but Noneya has managed to sneak the leg through. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams is trying to stand back up but Noneya is controlling him
Jake Noneya overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Noneya content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Noneya's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Noneya is taking a breather. Williams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Williams wants to get back to his feet. Noneya seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Williams wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Williams shoots in and bounces Noneya off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Noneya keeping full guard, as Williams tries to pass. Williams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noneya punching to the body, from the bottom. Noneya not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth. Noneya trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Noneya pushes down on Williams's leg and manages to get into half guard. Noneya seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Williams manages to escape and get back to his feet! Williams throws a series of punches but Noneya avoids them all with ease.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams throws a one two combo.
Noneya looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well. Williams's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Williams duly obliges. Williams misses with a few strikes there.
Williams closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Noneya did well to prevent Williams getting side control. Williams is nestled in close to Noneya, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Williams lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Williams is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Noneya is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams manages to stand up with Noneya still on his back. Eventually Noneya drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Noneya needs to keep his hands up - Williams had a free shot at his head there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Noneya on his heels. He'll look to pass Noneya's guard now, I'm sure. Noneya tries to land a sweep but no joy. Noneya controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself. Williams is in close to Noneya's body, working some short punches and elbows. Noneya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Williams preventing the sweep. Noneya has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle. Williams is working Noneya over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Williams working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Williams preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Noneya is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Williams. Noneya wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance. Noneya misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Noneya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Noneya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Noneya shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily. Williams is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Noneya with a body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Noneya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Noneya gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Williams lands a couple of digs.
Noneya is rocked! Williams postures up and lands a big shot to Noneya's brow. Oh Noneya is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Noneya is trying to keep Williams in close.
Williams gets to his feet and stands over Noneya, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Noneya felt that one! Williams unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Noneya from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Williams!
