Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Harrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonathan Green! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrell tries to keep at a distance but Green has taken the fight into the clinch. Harrell creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Harrell has hold of one of Green's legs. Green is fighting the takedown attempt but Harrell gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Harrell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harrell is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Green is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Green has escaped and now he's on top! Green lands a couple of decent looking shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harrell controls Green momentarily but Green frees himself. Harrell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Green looking to sit in guard and control but Harrell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Green preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrell distracts Green with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Harrell landing with the ground and pound. Harrell throwing strikes from guard but Green blocks nicely. Harrell throwing strikes but missing. Green tries to land a sweep but no joy. Harrell throws a big right hand that misses. Harrell throwing strikes but missing. Harrell stands and steps away. Green gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Harrell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Green pushes Harrell off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harrell is trying to maintain the position but Green is very close to passing his half guard. Green takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Harrell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Green wants to take a breather but Harrell is having none of it. Harrell is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green lands strikes from half guard. Harrell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Green is stalling here. Harrell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Green seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Harrell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Green manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harrell's best efforts. Harrell missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green is looking to improve his position.
Harrell seems to be working for a kimura but Green defends the submission attempt. Green keeping control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green blocking the ground and pound attempt from Harrell. Green has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harrell is working away from the top position though. Green regains full guard. Nicely done. Harrell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Green really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harrell throwing strikes from guard but Green blocks nicely. Harrell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Harrell postures up.
Harrell throws a big right hand that misses. Harrell wants to control from the top but Green keeps moving. Green looks winded! Harrell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Harrell lands a couple of digs. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Green can do anything to dispel that myth. Harrell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Harrell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Harrell with a nice head shot there. Harrell distracts Green with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Harrell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Green's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Wayne Harrell will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Green tries to bum rush Harrell with a series of wild strikes but Harrell uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Harrell attempts a counter takedown but Green avoids it well and moves away. Green moves into range and clinches up with Harrell. Harrell lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Green kicks Harrell off and gets back to his feet. Harrell moves out of range of the body kick from Green.
Green misses with an uppercut. Harrell appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Harrell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Harrell lands in his opponent's guard. Green has his feet on Harrell's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. This has been an exciting period of action! Harrell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Harrell scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green is refusing to be controlled, as Harrell sits in half guard. Green is defending against the submission attempts here by Harrell.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Green is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Green blocking the ground and pound attempt from Harrell. Harrell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Harrell thows a huge punch but Green dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Green has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harrell is working away from the top position though. Harrell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Green tries to roll over but Harrell keeps him under control. Green landing rabbit punches to the side of Harrell's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Harrell missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Harrell uses his free foot to push down on Green's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Green. Green is bucking up trying to escape but Harrell cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Green holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Harrell tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Harrell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harrell looking to finish Green with some ground and pound. This is bad for Green! Harrell goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Green is on top in guard.
Green must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Green throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Harrell controlling Green's posture. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Harrell is retaining full guard.

Green is looking to advance position but Harrell has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Harrell avoids the attempt from Green to control. Green sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Green has hold of Harrell's hands but Harrell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Harrell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Green defending well though. That was a close second round but I would say that Wayne Harrell will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Harrell is trying to control the position but Green postures up. Green loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Green won't allow Harrell to get back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Green accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Green lands a couple of digs. Green wants to get up but he can't break Harrell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Green is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Green throws a head kick but Harrell moves out of range.
Green closes the distance and pushes Harrell back into the cage. Harrell jumps guard and drags Green to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Harrell working a defensive guard here.

Green drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harrell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Green has Harrell in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Harrell's guard. Harrell seems keen to control Green's posture. Green wants to pass the guard but Harrell is keeping the position. Wayne Harrell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jonathan Green has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Green lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonathan Green comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Harrell has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
