Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Blisner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blisner's choice of entrance music: Garth Brooks- Friends in Low Places. Michael Angel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirk Blisner!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Angel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Angel is looking to stand up but Blisner won't let him.
Angel won't allow Blisner to get back to his feet.

Angel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Blisner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Angel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Blisner is now in Angel's guard. A big mistake from Angel there, giving up the dominant position!
Angel wants to sweep here but Blisner controlling him for the moment.

Blisner throws and elbow that misses. Angel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blisner's guard. Nice move by Angel!

Angel drops back looking for a leg! Blisner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blisner manages to kick Angel off! Angel jumps back into Blisner's guard.

Blisner had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Angel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blisner Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Angel's back instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Angel manages to reverse the position and now he's in Blisner's guard. Nice work there by Angel.

and Angel counters with a nice uppercut.
Blisner closes the distance and clinches up with Angel, looking for a takedown. Blisner pushes Angel against the ropes but Angel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Angel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Blisner manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Angel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blisner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blisner is pushing Angel's head away, looking to escape. Angel manages to hold on to the position though.

Blisner takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Angel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Angel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Blisner on the side of the head.

Angel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blisner's guard.

Angel is looking to advance position but Blisner won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blisner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Blisner is trying desperately to land a takedown but Angel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Blisner.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Angel rushes Blisner and presses him up against the ropes.
Blisner tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Angel smiles and moves away.

Angel manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Angel is pressing down on Blisner's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blisner is holding on for now.
Blisner pushes Angel off looking to stand but Angel dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Angel in particular looking to stall.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Angel moves into the clinch.
Blisner is trying to drag Angel to the mat but Angel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Angel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Blisner.
Blisner blocks an uppercut.
Blisner blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Angel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blisner backwards.
Angel has a couple of punches blocked by Blisner.
Angel tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Angel throws a head punch that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angel misses with a short punch on the inside.
Angel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blisner gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Blisner pulls guard successfully.
Blisner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Angel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Blisner throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Blisner throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Angel escapes and throws Blisner's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Blisner throws a right hand that Angel ducks under and follows up with a left that Angel also avoids with ease.
Angel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Angel tries to clinch but Blisner moves out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Angel's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Angel duly obliges.
Blisner misses with a takedown
and Angel counters with a one-two to the body.
