Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Son Gohan (ranked 23430 p4p, 612 weight class) and Johnny Winkle (ranked 23518 p4p, 608 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Son Gohan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Winkle! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gohan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gohan is struggling to control the position. Gohan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gohan manages to end up in side control. Gohan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Winkle keeps working. Gohan throws an elbow but Winkle slips to the side and avoids it well. Gohan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Winkle is trying to buck Gohan off. Winkle is not content to let Gohan control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winkle managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gohan.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gohan trying to control the action but Winkle is working from the bottom. Gohan misses with the ground and pound. Winkle is not content to let Gohan control the position. The ground and pound from Gohan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Winkle is not content to let Gohan control the position. You can see the frustration on Winkle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gohan working the body and head with strikes. Gohan misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Winkle pushes Gohan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gohan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Gohan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gohan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Gohan misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Gohan throws an elbow but Winkle slips to the side and avoids it well. Gohan wants to control for a moment but Winkle uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gohan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gohan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gohan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gohan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Winkle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gohan drops an elbow to the side of Winkle's head. Gohan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gohan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gohan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gohan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gohan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Winkle defending well though. Winkle tries to roll over but Gohan keeps him under control. Gohan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gohan drops an elbow to the side of Winkle's head. Gohan wants to control but Winkle is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Son Gohan dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gohan throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Winkle on the side of the head. Gohan stalks Winkle and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Winkle's face. Winkle staggers backwards, shaken. Gohan scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A lazy left from Gohan finds it's target. Winkle shoots in for a double leg but Gohan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Winkle fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Winkle doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gohan moves into the clinch. Son Gohan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Winkle. Gohan breaks from the clinch.
Johnny Winkle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gohan gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gohan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gohan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gohan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Winkle can do to turn this around? Gohan is keen to just control but Winkle is a slippery customer. Gohan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Gohan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Winkle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gohan. Gohan trying to control the action but Winkle is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gohan misses with the ground and pound. Gohan tries for a kimura but Winkle is defending well. Gohan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Winkle, who protects the arm well. Gohan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gohan trying to control the position but Winkle is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gohan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Winkle is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Son Gohan dominated that second round. That's time! Gohan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Winkle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gohan pinned against the cage. Gohan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gohan digs a good hook to Winkle's body.
Winkle has a takedown stuffed. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Winkle. Son Gohan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Winkle. Gohan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gohan showed some decent athleticism there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gohan wants to take a breather but Winkle is having none of it. Gohan lands strikes from half guard. Gohan slips a nice elbow through Winkle's hands, connecting with Winkle's forehead. Gohan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Gohan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gohan working the head and body with strikes. Winkle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gohan slows the pace down in half guard. Winkle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gohan winds up and cracks Winkle with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gohan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Gohan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Winkle can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gohan lands a big elbow. Winkle is squirming around, avoiding Gohan's attempts to control the action. Gohan working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gohan controlling his opponent. Son Gohan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gohan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Winkle that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gohan lands a nice shot to the head. Gohan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winkle taking shots to the head. The referee warns Winkle that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Winkle is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

And that's the end of the fight! Son Gohan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gohan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
